My name is Carlos Velazquez. We are Medicare agents or brokers concentrating on the South Florida market. My involvement in the health insurance industry began in 1988. It started with the Commercial side of business working with employer group plans with the largest HMO in Florida. I worked in billing, member services, account services and finance departments. I transitioned to the Medicare side in 2005.

Medicare Changes

The Medicare Modernization Act became effective January 1, 2006. Two major changes occured. It introduced Medicare Prescription Drugs(Part D) and it redesigned and renamed the managed care program to Medicare Advantage. It also changed the Medigap plans. Beginning in 2006, Medigap plans E, H, I and J were no longer available.

I have also been helping people choose Medicare Supplement plans since 2010. I am licensed in 25 states.
